About Us

It's a passion and an amazing sense of accomplishment to be able to pass along my knowledge to others and make the most out of the time we have.

Paul Marks
Founder & Captain of Black Pearl Sportfishing

Paul adores helping people in all sorts of ways and can’t think of anything more relaxing, fun, and grounding than showing people the joy of fishing.

You’re bound to catch some fish, but that’s not all it’s about–the kids are excited to ride on a boat! Fishing brings families closer through positive experiences, builds self-esteem, generates awareness around sustainability and supports the ‘from sea to table’ mentality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fishing licenses are mandatory unless you are under the age of 18 or over the age of 65. You may purchase one here. You will have the option to purchase a one-day pass (cheapest) or a seasons pass.

Make sure to dress for the weather conditions–hats, sweaters, sunglesses, etc.

We will provide sunscreen, drinks, and peanut free snacks. But you are more than welcome to bring anything else onboard. For instance, a cooler to take home your end-of day-catches!

Also, we provide all the custom fishing equipment; it’s the highest quality and up-to-date technology.

Yes! Every species of fish has a different size limit and bag limit. Possession and limits are to be followed by the set licensing and MNR regulations. As long as it’s legal to keep you are more than welcome to bring it back to the dock.

We can also bag and fillet your fish for a fee.

We welcome kids of any age to come fishing with us. There is nothing better than seeing a young kid catching their first big fish!

We can accommodate up to 4 anglers and the Captain. If you have more than that in your party just let us know and we’ll get it taken care of. If you have a large group or a corporate event we can get additional boats to fit your needs.

Of course. We love having anglers of any skill level, from professional to novice, on the boat. We will tailor the trip to suit YOUR needs.

We will help educate and assist our customers with fishing techniques. Everyone is able to help net and experience a more hands-on approach if they wish to do so. Or sit back and enjoy the charter and we will take care of everything else.

Note: if you’ve never been on a charter before and/or are worried about motion sickness, you may want:

  • to take a motion sickness tablet the night before the trip.
  • take a Gravol the morning of your adventure

*Always consult a physician before taking any medication.

Our trips are approximately 5 hours in length.

Start times are either in the morning at 7 am or 8 am, or in the afternoon at 1 pm or 2 pm.

Also, the times can be modified or customized to the client if need to be but this would have to be communicated with our Captain in advance.

We will usually set up the day you want to fish and then firm up the time/location a few days before the trip. We can always schedule the trip for whatever works best for you as well.

The Charter Captain may cancel a trip due to bad weather conditions at his discretion. We contact the client to re-book or refund the deposit.
